How does Dermaroller work?
Before your treatment the Practitioner will use a topical local anaesthetic for your comfort during the treatment. Your Dermarolelr treatment can begin after about twenty to thirty minutes when the anaesthetic has taken effect.
During the treatment thousands of micro medical needle columbs are made in the skin. These needles penetrate the skin dermis and are 0.1mm in width.
Following the treatment you will able to leave the clinic. There is no hospital stay with Dermaroller treatment.
After your treatment
Following your dermaroller treatment incredible changes start to occur in your skin. New collagen is formed and blood supply to the skin is enhanced. Be patient, as it takes up to six weeks for the results to start to show, but the good news is that improvements continue to develop over the following months.
The treatment is usually repeated on two further occasions , allowing six weeks between the treatments.
How does my skin look after the treatment?
After Dermaroller it is perfectly normal for your skin to look as if you have mild sunburn. This settles down over the course of the day and on the following day it should only appear as if your skin is slightly red. Our Practitionr will apply a special cream to your skin after the treatment. This cream helps settle and sooth the skin following treatment.
It is recommended that you use creams at home that are available from the clinic to maximise the results.

Before the procedure a thin layer of anaesthetic will be applied to numb your skin, this will make the treatment more comfortable and pain free.
As the skin roller is rolled over your skin, it creates pin point punctures into the dermis temporarily forcing the pores open. Once the Dermaroller treatment is complete the body reacts by producing collagen and elastin which will cause the skin to regenerate and repair itself.
Dermaroller therapy treatment usually takes between 20–30 minutes. You will also need to allow 30 minutes for the anaesthetic cream to take effect.
