What are lip enhancement dermal fillers?: Dermal fillers are a substance that can be injected under the skin to make it firmer and smooth out any wrinkles. There are many different dermal fillers available, but at SurgiCare, we only use synthetic products consisting of hyaluronic acid which is a natural chemical found in the skin. Because they are not produced from animal products, the dermal fillers that SurgiCare use are much less likely to produce allergic reactions than older fillers such as collagen, which is derived from cowhide.
Are dermal fillers safe?: At SurgiCare, we use synthetic dermal fillers that are extremely safe and have a very low incidence of allergic reaction. As with any procedure, there is, however, a very small possibility of allergic reaction, and this will be fully explained to you during your consultation at Surgicare.

Surgicare use well known brands of dermal fillers in all our lip enhancement procedures including Juvederm®, Restylane, Perlane, Evolence™ and Hydrafill.
How is lip enhancement done?: Lip enhancement treatments take around 30 minutes, and only require a local anaesthetic. Once this has been administered, the filler is injected into the lips to plump them out.
How long does lip enhancement last?: Although the results vary from one person to another, the results of a lip enhancement treatment with dermal fillers can last for up to nine months. Dermal fillers are gradually broken down and absorbed by the body, so eventually, your lips will return to their previous appearance without top-up treatments.; Although there are semi-permanent or even permanent dermal fillers available that produce longer lasting results, at Surgicare, we tend to avoid using them. Some patients can develop an allergy to semi permanent and permanent fillers. There are, however, safe products which will last between 12-18 months.
