How does wrinkle treatment work?

Enhanced Skin Rejuvenation is a non-invasive wrinkle treatment procedure that does not damage or remove the surface of the skin. This gentle laser treatment is safe to use on the face, and anywhere else where sun damage shows. You can return to your normal daily activities as soon as the treatment is completed, as no recovery time is necessary.

What happens during wrinkle treatment?

The treatment begins with the application of a thin layer of cool gel over the treatment area. The laser is placed against the skin, and when it the treatment begins you will feel a warm pulsing effect on your skin.

How long does wrinkle treatment take?

Enhanced Skin Rejuvenation typically uses two laser wavelengths in each wrinkle treatment session. Sessions takes approximately 30 minutes depending on how big the treatment area is. The number of treatments required will depend on your skin type and condition. This can be between 3 and 8 treatments, although this will be discussed with you during your initial consultation.

Is wrinkle treatment painful?

There may be some slight discomfort during the procedure; however a local anaesthetic can be applied to the area being treated in order to make you feel more comfortable.

What happens after wrinkle treatment?

As soon as the treatment is completed you can go back to your normal daily routine, and even wear makeup. Some patients have some redness or swelling after wrinkle treatment, but this generally only lasts a few hours, or in rare cases, a couple of days. Dark pigments and freckles sometimes get darker following wrinkle treatment, and there might be some dryness and flaking of the skin. You should wear a sun block during the day in order to protect your skin following laser wrinkle treatment.

When will I see results?

Wrinkle treatment works by encouraging the growth of collagen in the skin, which smooths out wrinkles. This is a natural process, and in most cases it takes around 3 treatments before you will begin to see results. This is normally around 9 to 12 weeks after your initial treatment.

How long do the benefits of wrinkle treatments last?

At SurgiCare, wrinkle treatment is carried out using lasers to encourage new collagen growth in the skin. This can slow down the appearance of new wrinkles, although you should also take care to avoid further skin damage by wearing sun block.
