Here come the Botox brides

As the wedding season sweeps across the UK, brides are doing more than dieting to get picture-perfect for their big day ...............
There’s no doubt what Sarah Burge is feeling as soft as silk - just the result she'd hoped for. The bride to be smiles' perfect' she says, flicking her long blonde hair.

Finally, she's satisfied her wedding photos will be as perfect as possible, and her guests will gasp for all the right reasons.
But Sarah hasn’t just tried on a tailor made wedding dress, or a billowing veil. She's had her last set of Botox injections- which she hopes will make her an even more beautiful bride.

Quick fix
And she's not alone. The Harley Medical Group - the UK's largest surgery provider - has announced a 51 per cent rise in non invasive procedures with Botox topping the list.

The wrinkle -banishing injection, made from toxins that relax the muscles to smooth the skin was closely followed by an increase in women opting for skin fillers and laser hair removal.

The Harley Medical Group has noted a rise in women getting boob jobs, tummy tucks and extensive liposuction in the run-up to their big day.

Surgicare, another leading cosmetic surgery chain with six clinic across Britain, had 335 wedding related enquires in 2007. And already this year, it has had more than 400 calls from brides just like Sarah.

She's had Botox injected into her crow’s feet and laughter lines.
I’ve always looked after my skin and been very pro-surgery explains Sarah, 49.

And when my fiancé Anthony and I decided to get married, I knew Botox would be part of my pre-wedding regime.

With so many close -up pictures, there was no way I was going to be snapped with a single wrinkle. And I wanted Anthony to see me at my very best.

'In the run up to the big day I had Botox injections every three months through my muscles, I felt fresh faced and youthful'

Growing Trends
Quick fix surgery treatments are fast becoming a must have for any glowing bride to be.

Not satisfied with going on a diet or having a facial, they want to start their married life with something that’s a little longer lasting.

A bridal body image survey carried out by a wedding magazine revealed seven per cent of brides were planning on having surgery on their nose. Eight per cent wanted a boob job, and a further five per cent planned to take the plunge with breast reduction.
