South Korea new surgery hot spot
New statistics have revealed that South Korea is proportionally the most popular country for cosmetic surgery in the world.
The figures from the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) showed that around 16 per cent of the population have had a cosmetic procedure, this rose to 20 per cent for women aged between 19 and 49 in South Korea’s capital city Seoul.
In Britain, less than four per cent of the population has had a cosmetic procedure, below 20 other countries including the US, Greece and Italy.
The increase has been linked to the rise of pop music in the country, with the most popular procedures including eyelid surgery, lipoplasty and rhinoplasty.
