Partners, Alan Crook (56) and Steven Robertshaw (50) from Sowerby Bridge , near Halifax , both had successful Blepharoplasty procedures at Surgicare clinic in Manchester during the Summer just in time for their civil partnership wedding in December 2006.

After being seriously assaulted two years before by a heroin addict outside their home, Steven was left with disfigurement around the eye area. The addict severely beat Steven all over the body with a timber plank from a building site next door, battering his face, breaking his arm and knocking him unconscious. This was all after Steven went to his aid after the addict passer-by fell off his bike outside Steven and Alan's home!

As a double decker bus driver, Steven had seen the SurgiCare billboard posters and had mentioned to Alan that it would be his dream to rectify his disfigured eye area.

And not one to give up this opportunity, partner Alan unbeknown to Steven, secretly booked a consultation appointment for Alan at the SurgiCare clinic in Leeds .

Romantically, so Steven wouldn't suspect a thing – Alan suggested that they visit nearby Leeds to go ‘ring shopping' for their pending wedding. Another twist came as Alan, once at the clinic, surprised Steven with the news that he too would have the Blepharoplasty surgery so they would both look great for their December wedding!!

Alan and Steven were referred to the Surgicare Manchester clinic where they successfully underwent surgery and are now delighted with the results.
