Enhance the way you look and feel

Dermal Fillers

There comes a morning in every woman's life when she looks in the mirror and sees a stranger looking back at her. "Surely my skin can't be that saggy and wrinkly?"

Too much sun. Too little sleep. The stresses and strains of modern life. It all takes its toll on the skin. And it's most likely to show up in your face.

You don’t have to resign yourself to the effects of premature ageing. Thanks to the Dermal Fillers revolution, SurgiCare can smooth out those unwanted folds and wrinkles, and give you an altogether more relaxed and youthful appearance.

As one of the UK's leaders in Dermal Filler procedures, SurgiCare has the expertise to fill out lines and wrinkles, sunken cheeks and weak chins, and enhance your lips.

FAQ's related to this procedure

What can I have improved?
  • SurgiCare can use dermal fillers to fill out lines and wrinkles around your mouth, eyes, nose and forehead.
  • We can give your mouth a fuller and more sensuous form by enhancing the lips to produce a better definition and reduction in lipstick bleed.
  • Your lips can also be given a greater volume and fuller appearance.
  • Facial contouring - for example, cheek and chin dimples - can be achieved using dermal fillers to smooth out the hollows and alter the facial contour.
What are dermal fillers?
A dermal filler is a substance which is injected into the skin to plump it up, make it firmer and smooth out lines and wrinkles.
There are many fillers on the market these days but SurgiCare only use synthetically produced non-animal products consisting of hyaluronic acid which is a natural chemical constituent of the skin. These products are far less likely to produce allergic reactions than old-fashioned fillers such as collagen which is derived from cow hide. Newer products are available based on poly-acrylamide, and a new collagen-based product which lasts up to 12 months with far fewer allergic reactions.
Are dermal fillers safe?
The dermal fillers SurgiCare use are extremely safe with a low incidence of allergic reaction. There is, however, a very small possibility of allergic reaction, which will be discussed with you when you visit your SurgiCare consultant. You can expect some degree of redness and swelling after the treatment, which usually clears up within 1-2 days.
Dermal fillers used at SurgiCare include Restylane Touch, Restylane, Restylane Perlane, Juvederm® 18, 24 & 30, Juvederm® 24HV and 30HV, Evolence™ and Radiesse.
How are dermal fillers done?
  1. The filler is injected, usually without the need for local anaesthetic, into the lines and defects to plump them out.
  2. The filler remains in the skin where it binds water to produce a lift and firmness to the treated areas.
How long do dermal fillers take?
Treatments usually take around 30 minutes. For lip enhancement, a local anaesthetic injection is usually given to remove any discomfort.
How long do dermal fillers last?
Typically, the results can last six to nine months but this varies from one person to another. The filler is gradually broken down and absorbed by the body, so the lines, wrinkles or lips will ultimately return to their previous appearance without top up treatments.
There are now some semi permanent or even permanent dermal fillers which produce long lasting results. Generally speaking, at SurgiCare, we tend to avoid using semi permanent and permanent fillers because some patients may develop an allergy to the product which cannot be removed. There are, however, safe products which will last between 12-18 months.
What is Restylane?
  • RESTYLANE is the ideal treatment for instantly enhancing your looks.
  • RESTYLANE works from the inside by adding volume to your skin without affecting your natural expression.
  • RESTYLANE is not a beauty cream and it is not surgery - it is an instant beauty lift to enhance your looks naturally.
What is Juvederm ®?
SurgiCare generally recommend a dermal filler called Juvederm which we use to restore a smoother, more youthful look to the skin. The filler is made up of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body's cells, making it a completely safe treatment with no need for prior allergy testing.
Juvederm is an excellent treatment option for:
  • Deep folds
  • Lip enhancement
  • Facial lines
  • Wrinkle correction
  • Volume augmentation of the lips
What is Evolence™?
It replenishes your skin's lost collagen. As time goes by, the collagen layer which supports your skin gradually diminishes, giving rise to wrinkles, lines and folds.
Now SurgiCare can help you counteract these effects with a natural collagen treatment called EVOLENCE.
EVOLENCE restores your natural youthful appearance by replenishing the lost collagen, adding volume and smoothing away unwelcome wrinkles.
EVOLENCE is based on collagen which, throughout two decades of use, has maintained an excellent safety record as an injectable beauty treatment.
EVOLENCE has also undergone additional extensive safety testing. Collagen has been used in medicine for over a century.
