Muscle Relaxing Treatments

Muscle Relaxing Treatments (Botox)

Every time you smile or frown, you set off a series of contractions in the underlying muscles of your face. As these muscles expand and contract, they crease your skin with an unflattering pattern of lines.

A quick, safe and simple procedure involving Muscle Relaxing injections can smooth out those lines and wrinkles on the upper part of your face, giving you a more relaxed and youthful appearance which can last for several months.

SurgiCare is one of the UK's leaders in Muscle Relaxing injections.

When you have your treatment, you'll notice a significant improvement to your features in just a couple of days.

Many people recognise the popular term Botox® as a muscle relaxing treatment used to smooth out facial lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet. Botox® is a trade nameand is only one type of anti wrinkle treatment on the market. At SurgiCare we use Vistabel® and Disport which are popular alternatives to Botox®

Botox® & Vistabel® are registered trademarks of Allergan Inc

You can easily fit a treatment into a lunch hour, and you'll be able to return to work straight after. What's stopping you?

Before you make a decision, SurgiCare will offer you a private consultation with a doctor to determine whether or not you are a suitable candidate.
What happens during muscle relaxing treatment?
  1. A series of tiny injections using a very fine needle are made into the desired locations.
  2. The volume of liquid injected is so tiny that any discomfort associated with the injections is minimal.
  3. No local anaesthetic is required to numb the area before treatment.
  4. Occasionally a small amount of bruising or swelling may occur at the injections sites, which resolves over a few days.
Is muscle relaxing safe?
Although any procedure carries small risks, muscle-relaxing injections are a very safe treatment in skilled hands. At SurgiCare only doctors with special training carry out the treatment.
Will I lose expression?
The extent to which facial expression is affected will depend on where the muscle relaxant is injected and how much of the substance is used. SurgiCare will aim to achieve the result you desire ranging from complete smoothing of, for example, the forehead, or a partial reduction in muscle activity, which will smooth out the lines but allow residual forehead movements.
